Find duplicates in Salesforce with fuzzy matching
What it shows
Catching the duplicate records exact matching misses — “Acme Corp” against “ACME Corporation”, “Jon Smith” against “John Smith” — by scoring how similar two records are rather than testing whether they are identical.
Why you need Datachef for this
Salesforce duplicate rules compare a fixed set of fields with standard matching, and they run on records as they are created. They will not tell you what is already sitting in the database, and they cannot be pointed at an arbitrary similarity threshold across objects. In SQL you can, and you can review the candidate pairs before anything is merged.
